Enrollment for the 2024-2025 School Year

The enrollment process for the 2024-2025 school year at Hayward Collegiate is now open. To enroll your child, please fill out the Intent to Enroll Form. This form is vital for placing your child on our waitlist for the upcoming school year. In 2023–24, children are eligible for TK if they turn 5 between September 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024. In 2024–25, children are eligible for TK if they turn 5 between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025. For incoming kindergarten students, they must be 5 years old by September 1 and have their immunization records updated by June 1.

Lottery Information

The lottery for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. The last day to sign up for the 2024-2025 school year is March 31, 2024. The lottery will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 8:30 AM.

By clicking the button above, you will be redirected to SchoolMint. SchoolMint is a self-serve website that manages the Enrollment Lottery and the Waiting List that is created post lottery. Registered SchoolMint users can log into their account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to check their student's status.

In the event Hayward Collegiate receives applications exceeding the maximum cap prior to the close of the admissions deadline, it shall determine which students shall enroll in the following manner:

Lottery Priority

  • Students within the Glassbrook Boundary

  • Siblings

  • Employee Children and Founding Families

  • In-district

  • No Priority California Residents and Multiples

  • No Priority

Applicants not admitted through the lottery will be placed on the waitlist in the order their names were drawn. Should openings arise during the school year, applicants will be admitted based on their position on the waitlist. Please note that the waitlist does not carry over from year to year.

If you already have a SchoolMint account, you don't need to create a new one. New users can register on the SchoolMint website.

Waitlist

Proof of Residency Requirements

For enrollment at Hayward Collegiate, parents or legal guardians must provide proof of residency. This can be verified with two of the following documents:

  • Property tax receipt or proof of homestead exemption

  • Current electric bill

  • Contract for home purchase

  • Warranty deed

  • Lease agreement

  • Ensure that you select the correct grade and district preference when applying. Any errors can result in your application being processed incorrectly.

    • If you select the wrong grade or In-District vs. Out-of-the-District lottery and do not correct it, your student will be processed in the grade level/county lottery you selected incorrectly. If you are subsequently offered a spot in an incorrect lottery,  your spot will be forfeited, and your student will then be moved to the bottom of the waiting list of the correct lottery for which the student should have applied. Hayward Collegiate is not responsible for parent/guardian errors in the application process. Please double-check applications for accuracy by viewing the applications in SchoolMint. Proof of residency and/or preference documentation will be required for enrollment of all students.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Anyone who would like their child to attend Hayward Collegiate must apply to the lottery. This includes siblings of students currently attending Hayward Collegiate, children of all staff, and children currently on the waitlist.

  • Yes, you must apply EVERY SCHOOL YEAR for the specific grade that your student will be in. The school year is notated in the title of each lottery. Every lottery/waiting list only is applicable to the specific school year you applied for.

    For example, if you applied for the 5th Grade 2019-20 School Year Lottery, you would need to log into your SchoolMint account and apply for the 6th Grade 2020-21 School Year Lottery for your child.

  • The SchoolMint system sends each applicant an official e-mail notification with lottery results, this automated email should be delivered to your inbox within a few hours of the lottery being run. This system generated email from the SchoolMint system and can take several hours due to the fact that we normally have several hundred applicants across the TK-8 school.

    You can log into your SchoolMint account 24 hours a day 7 days a week to monitor your current status. You may also log in to your Schoolmint account shortly after the lottery process is complete on Saturday, April 13 2023.

  • You forfeit your slot if you do not respond within the time frame outlined in your email. There are no exceptions to the deadline. Once the defined timeframe has passed, the slot is offered to the next student on the waitlist via the SchoolMint process.

  • In the event that there are applicants remaining after the conduct of the lottery, those applicants not admitted to the school shall be placed on the waitlist in the order their names were drawn. To the extent that openings occur at the charter school during the school year for which the lottery is conducted, applicants shall be offered admission in the order in which they appear on the waitlist. The waitlist does not carry over from year to year.

  • No; Hayward Collegiate is open to all students, regardless of their district of residence. However, preference is given to applicants residing within the local school district boundaries during the lottery process.

  • Parents/guardians of pupils who choose to disenroll their student from Hayward Collegiate  shall fill out a voluntary exit form available in the school office. The exit form will ask parents to state their reason for choosing to exit their student. Students voluntarily disenrolling will have no priority in admissions if they choose to return at a later date. Navigator Schools staff will forward the student’s cumulative file on to the student’s new school upon request from the student’s new school. Navigator will notify the student’s district of residence when a student is disenrolled.
