Enrollment for the 2024-2025 School Year
If you're interested in a Navigator education for your student at Gilroy Prep, start by filling out the Intent to Enroll Form. This will place your child on the waitlist for the upcoming school year. Please note that all entering students will require up-to-date immunization records. In 2023–24, children are eligible for TK if they turn 5 between September 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024. In 2024–25, children are eligible for TK if they turn 5 between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025. For incoming kindergarten students, they must be 5 years old by September 1 and have their immunization records updated by June 1.
Lottery Information
The lottery for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. The last day to sign up for the 2024-2025 school year is March 31, 2024. The lottery will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 8:30 AM.
By clicking the button above, you will be redirected to SchoolMint. SchoolMint is a self-serve website that manages the Enrollment Lottery and the Waiting List that is created post lottery. Registered SchoolMint users can log into their account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to check their student's status.
In the event Gilroy Prep receives applications exceeding the maximum cap prior to the close of the admissions deadline, it shall determine which students shall enroll in the following manner:
Lottery Priority

All siblings of students enrolled at and attending the Charter School at the time of the lottery shall be admitted, prior to the lottery.

All staff children (not to exceed greater than 5%) shall be admitted, prior to the lottery.

Applicants whose parents/guardians provide written verification they are eligible for Free and Reduced Lunch under that program guidelines shall be designated Free and Reduced Eligible.

Applicants whose address fall in the local schools district boundaries, shall be designated In-District Eligible.

All other applicants will be designated All Other Eligible.
If there are still applicants after the lottery, they will be placed on a waitlist in the order their names were drawn. If openings occur during the school year, applicants will be offered admission based on their position on the waitlist. The waitlist does not carry over from year to year.

To apply, click here to redirect to SchoolMint. SchoolMint manages the Enrollment Lottery and the Waiting List. Registered users can log in anytime to check their student's status. If you already have a SchoolMint account, you don't need to create a new one. New users can register on the SchoolMint website.

Proof of Residency Requirements
For enrollment at Gilroy Prep, parents or legal guardians must verify their address using two of the following documents:
Property tax receipt or proof of homestead exemption
Current electric bill
Contract for home purchase
Warranty deed
Lease agreement
Ensure that you select the correct grade and district preference when applying. Any errors can result in your application being processed incorrectly.
Proof of residency and/or preference documentation will be required for all students during enrollment.

Anyone who would like their child to attend Gilroy Prep must apply to the lottery. This includes siblings of students currently attending Gilroy Prep (K-8 grade), children of all staff, and children currently on the waitlist.

Yes, you must apply EVERY SCHOOL YEAR for the specific grade that your student will be in. The school year is notated in the title of each lottery. Every lottery/waiting list only is applicable to the specific school year you applied for.
For example, if you applied for the 5th Grade 2019-20 School Year Lottery, you would need to log into your SchoolMint account and apply for the 6th Grade 2020-21 School Year Lottery for your child.

The SchoolMint system sends each applicant an official e-mail notification with lottery results, this automated email should be delivered to your inbox within a few hours of the lottery being run. This system generated email from the SchoolMint system and can take several hours due to the fact that we normally have several hundred applicants across the K-8 school.
You can log into your SchoolMint account 24 hours a day 7 days a week to monitor your current status. You may also log in to your Schoolmint account shortly after the lottery process is complete on Saturday, April 13 2024.

You forfeit your slot if you do not respond within the time frame outlined in your email. There are no exceptions to the deadline. Once the defined timeframe has passed, the slot is offered to the next student on the waitlist via the SchoolMint process.

In the event that there are applicants remaining after the conduct of the lottery, those applicants not admitted to the school shall be placed on the waitlist in the order their names were drawn. To the extent that openings occur at the charter school during the school year for which the lottery is conducted, applicants shall be offered admission in the order in which they appear on the waitlist. The waitlist does not carry over from year to year.

No; Gilroy Prep is open to all students, regardless of their district of residence. However, preference is given to applicants residing within the local school district boundaries during the lottery process.
